Crafty Me

So I don’t talk about it much, but I do like my scrapbooking, and my stamping. So I thought I’d show you a couple of things I made this Christmas for gifts. I always have all these grand plans to make all kinds of things and then, well you know, stuff happens. But I was pretty happy with how these turned out.

The first one is a project I’ve had in mind for awhile. I took 2" wood craft blocks (I would have preferred larger but that was as big as I could find). Using my scrapbooking supplies I spelled out the word "friend" with cool paper and chipboard letters. The cubes have different coordinating paper on each side (except the bottom). I did paint each block first just because there were some exposed edges. On the back there are two pictures of my friend Stacey and I (sadly this is the only 2 pictures of us that exist in our 4 years of frienship).

The second is a book for Mark’s grandmother. She owns a cabin up North that we love to go visit. She already has a little guest book where people always sign in when they come but it doesn’t have room to write about all the funny stuff like the night there was wild javelina’s outside, etc. So I made her a "Cabin Memories" book. I picked up this album at the $1 spot at Target awhile back. I just altered with scrapbook paper, ribbon and then stamped an image in the corner of each page. I think she really liked it.

I love making handmade gifts for people. When I get a chance I’ll post pictures of some of the other stuff I’ve done – including wood box purses!
