Prayer Request

December 5, 2006 at 8:24 pm (Faith)

I received an email Monday from a very old and dear friend. Her best friend’s husband is a fighter pilot and has been in Iraq since September. His plane was shot down on the 27th.

Maj. Troy Gilbert deployed with the 332nd Expeditionary Wing at Balad Air Force Base in Iraq.

Gilbert’s duty status has been changed to "killed in action" after positive identification of remains retrieved at the crash site.

Troy and his wife, Ginger, have 5 children – two sons, a four-year old daughter, and twin daughters just celebrating
their first Christmas. Fortunately they are surrounded by their church family, friends and family at this time but I know they appreciate the prayers they are receiving from those they don’t know.

UPDATED 12/5: The memorial service for Troy is being held tomorrow morning. Our prayer is that God’s love will shine bright during this time and that Troy’s witness during his time here on earth will bring many to the kingdom of God.
